The S P A C E S We Live was shot with expired film and a Holga 35, giving the images a grainy and obscured quality. Palmer was inspired by growing up in Detroit and its south-side suburbs known as “Downriver.” She takes an abstract look at how these unique spaces shape identities.

Kylen Louanne Palmer is an artist and photographer based in Detroit, MI. She studied photography at Wayne State University’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts. She has a passion for the process and tactile nature of expired film, vintage cameras and experimental photographic processes.


Shenyah Webb

Shenyah Webb is a Portland-based visual artist and musician. She has been with NAILED Magazine since its inception in 2012 and has served as the Arts Editor and a Contributing Editor since its launch in 2013. A Detroit native, she attended The College for Creative Studies, where she focused on Fine Art and Industrial Design.
