A Plane Flies Over the Ocean

A plane flies over the ocean.

As you read this, this plane is already
in your mind.

Maybe they have just begun
the drink service on your plane.

Look, there is a kind grandfather
tucking a pillow under a sleeping child's head.

Someone just turned on their
overhead light to read. Why not?
It's the only time we get
a personal lamp like that.

The man to your left is
using an electronic device.
On your right, a woman
stares at a cocktail napkin.

There's a vague smell of
old socks and coca-cola products.

A few passengers are dressed
for business, a few are dressed for
vacation. Some have on what
they would wear to see their families.
Casual never looks as good
as on a plane.

You never see this cross section
of society anywhere else in your mind.

There is a man in front of you
with a cat in a box
which meows every ten seconds.

There are people from several different countries
in here.

The plane crashes into the ocean.

What happened to your plane?
