up this brick
you’re nailed to”

Perspective

This week, a naked man
nailed his testicles
to a brick in red square.

I wish I could have
been there to capture
his thoughts on the typhoon
in the Philippines.

"Thousands are dead,
water is scarce,
how do you feel about that?
Are you thirsty?
Can I mail
your water bottle
to Tacloban?
It doesn't appear
that your clothes
are needed,
let's send those too.

In fact, let's just dig
up this brick
you're nailed to
and air drop you
amongst the rubble and boards
of Leyte province.

I think you can give
hope to the people there.
They can think
"I may have it bad now,
but at least I'm not naked
with my testicles
nailed to a brick."
