“The beautiful warping of structure and anatomy”

The digital illustration of Yadi Liu combines vibrant color palettes with fluid, playful lines to create drippingly gorgeous works of art. From soft feminine forms blending together to vast pastel rooms, these pieces are visually intriguing in their beautiful warping of structure and anatomy. Her evocative work demands closer examination as emotional detail reveals itself, especially in her multi-paneled illustrations, “The Little Death” and “Come Apart”. Depicting orgasms and a relationship respectively, the style shifts between figurative and abstract seamlessly to convey the complexities of each experience. Yadi Liu’s work goes beyond written language to core aspects of being human.

From the Artist:

As a visual artist, I truly believe that honest art only comes from real feelings. I have been trying to record my emotions and to explore the truth of life through art. My illustration is influenced more by fine arts. I have always desired to find the balance between illustration and Modern Art, and this is the goal I will ceaselessly endeavor and pursue in the future.

For me, illustration is using my way to demonstrate my understanding of beauty. This beauty originates from different sources and presents different formats, such as body, nature, architecture, relationships, etc. My favorite themes are the ones that have a close connection to my inspiration and understanding of life, including emotions, femininity, and culture. I feel artworks coming from my real feelings are the most attractive and touching ones. I like abstract shapes and curvy lines. Drawing edges for different shapes is my favorite moment during creation.
