Somewhere in the Brooklyn, Keith Henry Brown’s mind wanders. There’s always projects happening, some ongoing, some completed, some not. He’s a mainstream comics fan, worked in the business briefly (Marvel) but soon felt too inhibited, which led him to pursue illustration or just general personal expression. Still, the reality of living in the most expensive city in the world became too much and Keith started career as an art director, working for such notable spots as Jazz At Lincoln Center and Blue Note Jazz Clubs as well as many music labels, illustrating and designing. For Keith, music is one of essential things in life. That, and his two big sons. All together, not a bad existence. There’s a lot influences, and it’s sometimes hard to stick to one style for long. Still, he feels he’s got so much to learn and accomplish. In the meantime, his personal comics tend to express the maladies of the everyday world, and Keith is also working on a long term project – a graphic novel about one of his favorite musicians, the jazz saxophonist Eric Dolphy.
